Cutting the chord

In the next few days I hope to join the ranks of Americans who have cut ties with cable or satellite television providers. I already pay for Netflix, Amazon Prime (Instant) and have the Playstation Network. I figure I should be able to watch most of what I need with the three, and hopefully save $100 a month.

I know I'll miss things like NHL Center Ice, Direc TV's professional hockey program, and being able to watch a hockey game every night of the regular season, but honestly, I barely watched a handful of games in the last two seasons.

I'll find alternatives to the few television shows I do watch, but for the most part I'll utilize the alternatives that I have rather than rely on an additional expense, that all things considered, could be easily cut out.
