I head reffed my first regulation game for my home league, the Old Capitol City Roller Girls, on Saturday at the Marriott Hotel and Convention Center, Coralville, Iowa.
I've always considered myself a roller derby referee who enjoys all aspects of the sport and betters himself to be solid in all four skating positions (head referee, inside pack referee, jam referee, and outside pack referee), so getting to head referee is certainly a skill set I want more practice at.
